Pretty decent. Far Cry 3 is better. Blood Dragon comes out tomorrow which should be the best if you grew up in the 80s.

It was ok. I liked crysis 2 more. Multiplayer gets kind of retarded, everyone pretty much camps with the bow, nullifying many other potentially fun aspects of gameplay.

Multiplayer Beta was alright but got stale quick.

Not sure about the campaign though?

It wasn't as long/epic as Crysis 2, but parts of the campaign deliver.  First one is still the best IMO.

The bow is pretty sweet. The voice over is kind of lacking.

Single player wise? Crysis > Crysis 2. I'm just going to go out on a limb and assume Crysis 2 > Crysis 3, but 2 was bad enough where I don't know anymore

Damn I'm a picky bastard eh?

Yeah, I have to agree, though strictly out of preference.  I played Crysis 2, and it was a very high quality game.   For the first couple hours of it, I loved it.  But that was becaues the first couple hours consisted of sneaking around and picking off enemy soldiers for the most part...once they started introducing aliens(the kind that you would have to do mag dumps just to kill one of them) it kinda got stale for me.  Not a big fan of those types of games.

Tried 3 different times to play through it...just didn't peak my interest, like I said, once it turned from a stealth shooter to a sci fi blaster.  Far Cry 3, which i just picked up a week or so ago, is the game that I was hoping Crysis would have been.

Not to shit on the Crysis series or anything, just make sure you know what you are getting.  If you want a game where you are sneaking around the whole time, and taking "tactical" shots when you see the chance, Far Cry is for you.

Crysis eventually turns into a run and gun type game, with a lot of emphasis on powerups for your suit and whatnot.  It does have the best graphics of any ps3 game I have ever played though.

Here is my take on it.. I'm a pretty avid Crysis fan and I've played through all of them tons of times.

I was disappointed.    The graphics and the firearms interaction are top-notch without a question.  The CryEngine has always been at the top of the list no doubt.

However,  it lacks the open world feel that the first two had.  I think this is the most disappointing part about it.  For the first time in a Crysis game I felt like I was being led around by the nose from scene to scene instead of playing through a world.  It's a little difficult to describe but basically you start off following Psycho (a character from Crysis 1 and Warhead) and for the majority of the rest of the game you have to play keep up with Psycho.  The advertising leads you to believe that you're going to run around in a world with different type of environments in some type of sandbox fight against the Ceph, instead you land in a short game-play world where the levels feel rather constrained.  I wasn't a fan of the whole Psycho/girlfriend drama.. it's almost as annoying as having to put up with O'neill and the constant back and forth in Warhead.  I don't care Psycho's stupid ass girlfriend, and I certainly don't give a shit whether O'neill washed out of selection because he can't figure out whether to bomb his own troops or not.

I really expected more of an Ling-Shan Island approach where the player went from one unique battle situation to another with a more open approach on how to engage the enemy.  Instead I landed in a world where there were only one or two really good ways to take out the enemy as opposed to dozens of possibilities.  I feel like Crysis 3 lost the flexibility of the first two.  Granted the possibilities of engagement do open up later in the game (because the level size increases substantially) but that's only for a very short while before it suddenly concludes in one big boss fight.

Now, without a doubt Crysis 3 is a fun game.  You should play it because the story and the gameplay that they allow you to do are enjoyable.  If you don't you're going to miss the conclusion of the series which if you've played all along is certainly past due for a wrap-up.

Good posts in here.

I'd give it a 6.5/10.  It's just OK having paid full price but it would be a fine $30 or so game.  As mentioned multiplayer gets a little repetitive though which is surprising because it wasn't like that with C2 but the maps are different this time around and that stupid bow kinda gets old.  Good game types though.

If you can get it for $20 or $30, do it, but I wouldn't pay more unless you're really hard up for a new game.
