| I applied for a C&R license back in Aug, got a call from BATF today saying they needed to come and interview/inspect before they could issue a license. The agent is coming tomorrow afternoon, couldn't get much in the way of information out of him on the phone, have no idea what to expect. From what I've heard this is extremely unusual, only heard of one other case of a pre-license visit, it was in the Peoples Republic of New York City! What am I in for? |

During your visit, when the employee (who is not going to be a LE agent most likely) gives you the bull shit line about how it is a crime to lie to them and so on.....do not, no matter how bad you want to, say "Yaz Maz-ter, Iz be Goodz". Just some ATF get along advice. |

I was interviewed about ten years ago when I applied for a C&R. One of the two that showed up was in training and I believe the visit was for the purpose of that training. Got the license and when I contacted the Sturmabteilung (State Police) here in Nazi Jersey to get their part of the deal, I was informed that they do not "recognize" a C&R and was personally threatened by one of their chief little assholes. So the C&R made a nice $30 decoration above my desk as a reminder to move to a free state some day. Simply stated, your visit may just be "training day" for a new guy. |

Quoted: First impressions count. Hide or get rid of any empty booze bottles, porn or Nazi memorabilia. Also... and this is important, be sure to offer them some Tollhouse cookies and milk. BWAHHHHHAAAAAAHHHHAAA For sure don't offer them high test coffee, they will just get juiced up [:)] |

Well, the interview didn't amount to too much, mostly talked about regulations and what a C&R couldn't do. Asked if I had checked local laws and regulations, and informed local CLEO. Took about an hour, no inspection involved. He said I should see my license in a couple of weeks. Big Sigh of Relief! |
