I have about 3/4 of a gallon of 1:40 oil mixture left over from sitting around all winter.  I want to use fresh gas now.

Is it alright to pour that gas into my car with a full tank?

My gut says no but I really don't know if it would do any harm or not mixed with about 16 other gallons.

Anybody know?

I've done it in the past.  I don't know if it is good or bad but my car ran fine.

I mix my left over 2 cycle gas with my mower gas now and there seems to no issue.

It is what?  $2.50 worth of gas.  Yeah I would risk using it in the car

It would be so diluted it wouldn't matter

It's not like you are putting diesel in it

Just dump it into the storm drain, and be done with it.

Ever mix Marvel Mystery oil into your gas?

How about Lucas oil into your fuel tank.

OP, you'll be fine it's 40:1 not straight 1:1 oil mix.

There would be just over 2 oz of oil in the 3/4 gal of mix.

By the time you put it in the tank the mix would be so diluted it won't matter.

I'd be more worried about the skunky gas than I would the oil.

My thought too.

Just pour it in the river.

Unless you put a stabilizer in it, it's not good for 2-cycle engines anymore.  Straight gas lasts about 1-1/2 years just sitting in a container, mixed gas just a couple of months without a stabilizer.  As other posters have said, it would probably be so diluted in a tank full of gas that there will be no issues.

It is fine to do that.  I am not sure if repeatedly doing that might not foul up a sensor or possibly the cat eventually, but you are only talking about a few ounces vs 17 gallons of gas.  I just did the same thing to my car today.
