Just a generic term for inflammation the doctors can't figure out.  I've been diagnosed with tendentious many times.

My knees kill me all the time from running a lot. So I don't run anymore.

I had it in my left elbow really bad a couple of years ago.

Naproxen and lots of icepacks. Rest it if you can.

Went away in about 6 months.

I get it in my wrists and elbows once in awhile, usually when I shoot my bow too much. So I just have to cut back on archery a bit and learn to live with it.

Been through that a few times.  The only way to fix it is to stop using it....for WEEKS.  I had such a a severe case in high school, baseball related, that they put me in a splint so I couldn't bend my elbow for 6 weeks.  And yeah, it can hurt like a mofo.

Seen a physical therapist about that?

Get it from time to time from lifting heavy.  These work for me.

Seriously! I had a lump on my Achilles from a pair of hiking boots the size of a ping pong ball, and the doctor said it was "just tendinitis." But his solution to everything was 3200 mg of ibuprofen daily.

Yup tendonitis sucks and is very painful.  Had issues with it after doctors reattached

my achilles tendon.  Took over a year to get the damn thing calmed down.  Has the doc

suggested anti inflammatory drugs or cortisone shots?

I had tendonitis in both feet at the same time once.  800mg of ibuprofen every four hours had it fixed in a day.

Yeah, it sucks.

I'll mention though that what other posters have said, it's a generic diagnosis for an inflammation issue, is true.

If you've worked a lot of construction it's likely you have bursitis rather than tendonitis, it doesn't matter much since the regimen is the same.

If it's bursitis it will take a while to go away, you have to avoid any impact/shock to the joint, but it does heal.

Drink some cherry juice for a week.

what you need:

rest the joint

ice the joint daily

take NSAID's in moderation to reduce the inflammation.

worst case, get a cortisone shot in the affected area.
