I am looking for a EDC flashlight. It must be small enough and sturdy enough to carry everyday

I want it to be able to attach to an AR-15 rail with a mount for occasional use

If it could be pistol mounted as well that would be a plus but not required.

Until now I have used cheap little flashlights but recently sold some items and have enough to properly invest in a light.

Your recommendations and suggestions are appreciated. If this is not the right forum please move this post or direct me accordingly.

Oh FLASHLIGHT advice...

In that case, I am no help.

Well actually I use a 5.11 ATAC L2 for everyday use, it may be a little on the big side though It's not that big. Although it does come in smaller sizes and I'm not sure if it can mount directly to a weapon (I'm sure you could get it to). It also has a high/low setting as well as strobe which is pretty cool.

I think they're one size fits all, just add lube.

Too big for a pistol light, but the Surefire G2 is a good everyday carry light as it's cheap enough that you wont get pissed off if you lose it.

As for flashlights, SureFire is going to be the top dog. Streamlight is not quite as hardcore, but they go for a lot less money. I've never used the 5.11 lights myself, so can't say.

If you want to go for it, then the Surefire E2DL is your ticket.

I bought my father-in-law a G2, but I'm not a big fan of the twist-end of the cheaper Surefires. E2DL gives you pocket size, awesomely uniform 200 lumen output, LED bulb, two intensity with momentary on switch, hardcore metal construction. And the strike bezel is a nice touch too.

On lower power:

One of these items needs to be renamed.

I've been looking for a single AA replacement for my Fenix L1T; they seem to get lost every couple of years and I'm down to my last one.

I know that I spend too much time on arfcom when I can't even read flashlight advice without it being fleshlight.

EDC AND weapon mount? Jeez...

As previously mentioned, the SureFire E2D LED could work, but it might tear up your pants. Impractical pistola mount, but if you found the right ring it'd go on a rifle rail.

An E1B might work too - easier EDC, no torn up pants. Same issues for weapon mount + the clip getting in the way.

I don't own one myself, but I'm assuming they're GTG, since they've become an adult-oriented house-hold brand name.

Oh....sorry...I thought you were asking about a fleshlight.....never-mind.

I have the A2. They're good lights. Not sure about weapon mounting but as said you could probably find a way.

The Surefire G2 LED is a good light too. It can easily be mounted to a weapon.

I carry one of these Energizer Single AA Lights but with rechargeable Rechargeable 14500 3.6V Batteries. Those batteries really bring it to life.

Thanks I was leaning to the G2x pro. I just cant justify spending $250 on a flashlightlike some here. Thank you for the advice I am glad to see many of you think this will work.

They don't contain the word tactical but the Coleman ones at Walmart are actually really nice. Mines going on 2 years with the original batteries and I use it almsot every day, and 2-4hours per day during hunting season.

They won't work for a pistol mounted light but the body is almost exactly 30mm, so they should be weapon mountable with 30mm rings and maybe a layer of electrical tape on the inside of the rings.

First suggestion is DO NOT buy any light that will not run off the 18650 lithium cells. These offer more power, cheaper to operate and way, way longer runtime.

For the light you're asking I would highly recommend the NiteCore MT26. I just recommended this very light to a buddy out of state and he ended up buy two more after receiving the first one, that's how much he loved it!!

Highly recommend buying from this place, they have free shipping and great customer service. For batteries I would suggest sticking with the larger type over 3000mah.

I would get these or these for batteries and get two, one for backup but you'll almost never need a backup with this type of battery. Get a charger too.

Great little lights for the right price. I own both the AA and AAA ones.

Streamlight Protac 1AA.  Hi > Strobe > Low.  I have one in my pocket right now.  Smaller than a cell phone or a small OC container.

I have a few different ones...... if you want small yet powerful and inexpensive.   Look online for a P Rocket II  they are internet direct, under $50 and have between 800-900 lumens.    Killer.

Lenser rechargeables, I have the M7R, cost just under $100, slickest recharge system ever, magnet holds it in the cradle.  Adjustable beam and pretty bright, they have 2 similar rechargeables that are twice as bright but cost much more.

Something like a SunwayMan V10R, or V11R, would be small enough to EDC, fit on a pistol and the would be bright enough to work on an AR-15, if they can stand the recoil.

Fitting under a pistol slide is going to be the linchpin, so you need something small and the two SWM lights are only a couple of inches long and are way bright enough at ~200LM with a primary CR123A and really bright, at ~460LM, with a RCR-123/16340 Li-Ion cell.

The problem would be a mount.

People do it every day, but I won't regularly carry a tactical light in my pocket.  I found a light like the Surefire 6P to be too big for my liking.

I've been carrying the AAA diameter Streamlights (Stylus Pro/Microstream) and they are perfect for EDC pocket carry in my opinion.  Great price too.
