What is the best method for getting rid of Mosquitos without calling in a professional? No standing water, but there is some brush/branches hanging in a corner of the yard. Just want a relatively easy method of getting them gone even if its something I have to repeat every once and a while.

Nuke them from orbit.

There's no other way to be sure.

If you're dealing with swarms of them on your property then somewhere nearby is very slow moving or standing water where they are breeding.  Buckets, bins, tarps, etc...anything that can hold water in it for any period of time should be covered, flipped upside down, removed, etc.

I remember back in Chicago the mosquitos were so bad that they had those loud fogger trucks drive up and down all the residential streets.  Some mornings there would be a fog over the fox river which was usually all mosquitos.  Down here in SW MO there don't seem to be as many but they are still here.

Mossies? That's a new one for me.

How big is the property and how much do you want to spend?

These aren't cheap but they get the job done:

These work too, and cheaper -- just not as long lasting.

bats, guinea fowl/chickens, and permethrine.

I've heard most of those propane units just don't work.

It's only about .5 an acre and they congregate primarily back where my garden is.  I know the standing water is there... Just hover around in the brush areas away from the garden some, and it drives me nuts.  I will look into the blowers and see about them and permerthrin also. Thanks
