Over the years I have bought used GI range mags around Ft. Dragg. I just started building my first AR15 because I wanted to learn the ins and outs and have a better familiarization than just getting one off of the shelf. I have found that my used mags have issues with staying in the magzine area without me holding them up. I thought it was the build, but I adjusted and readjusted the spring tension and etc. Turns out, you get what you pay for in mags and it is that they are worn on the side that they are supposed to catch and retain. Has anyone else had this issue? I found by bending them out a bit, I can get them to stay with some consistency. Anyway, first build, loving the info on this site and hope to make my next build even better. I'm using the PSA polymer lowers so we will see how they fan out. Thanks for the help.

You just landed in the free play area of ARFCOM, it can get rough real fast. Better to post in a tech forum for better advice and less abuse. Read GD and lurk for a while to get the feel of it, you'll be better than your fellow 13'ers (Of which there have been many, and thus the nick.) Quoted: Thanks, really new and feeling my way thru this website as of right now. Just started all of the building and was looking for some help, not the whole 13er thing, whatever that means |

Operator Headspace and Timing. I'll be at Bragg at the end of the month to fix it. Op, push until then. I am in the immediate area of Bragg if you need any help. 13er is someone who joined in 2013, a special bunch of people we hold dear to our hearts. |

Think you can troubleshoot the issue with the 13ers Headspace and Timing? |

Quoted: Chris, welcome to the forum. You'll get more serious replies if you post your question in the "Magazine" sub-forum: http://www.ar15.com/forums/f_3/17_Magazines.html Perhaps a mod will move this thread there. This Decent question, too decent for GD. |
