I thought the movie was great if they had just called it a sequel instead of a remake. Change the intro to say that the movie happened 100+ years after the origional. Change the character names. Instead of the fall being the "only" travel around the globe, make it the most economical. In the speech at the end, have the general tell Colin that the government has used this technique for over 100 years to ferret out rebel groups. Would have been a great sequel. It was a beautiful move, great action, great effects.. Could have been much more acceptable if they just changed the perception going in.
