I've seen more sympathy for a talentless, uneducated goofball in the last couple of days than all of the fallen US Soldiers in the last 3 years combined. Of course it's local here, so it's all over. To me, it just shows that our priorities are so distracted.
Link to story I'm sure everyone from LA to NY has heard about. I know more people who could tell you every detail of this guy's life but doesn't know who Chris Kyle, Carlos Hathcock, Ross McGinnis or any other real life hero who's existed in US history. These people's children (as young as 6 and 7) wept publicly when the news came out. They kept them out of school and held vigils in his honor. I feel for Gandee's family, and hope they come through this tragedy OK, but dang... I guess this is starting to look like a rant, but without all of the required curse words and/or pics. I'm just making an observation and sharing. |
