| Looking for a fun .22 plinker. How is the GSG-5? |
|
I finally shot one at the range. They're fun for a heavy .22, but remember, it's made of pot metal. If you can get one cheap with some mags, have fun. I wouldn't spend a PENNY over $300, but that's me. PROS: It's a accurate little .22, and seemed pretty reliable. CONS: Heavy, and cheap metal, good luck finding a correctly priced one in this market.

I love mine. Check out the forum; http://www.ar15.com/forums/f_6/41_GSG_5.html |

I liked mine when it fired. Don't know if it was just the particular one I had, or the mags, but it was a jam-o-matic. Ended up trading it and some ammo for a Remington 700 AAC-SD. Same with the one I have. It sits in the safe because I am reluctant to dump it on someone else. |

Once the novelty of "this looks so cool!" Wears off and you realize it actually doesn't look as good as a decent air soft ,you'll likely realize that you could have bought a bunch more gun for less $.
I haven't shots mine in a couple years. It's not a *bad* gun, just that its heavy and not especially well made or anything. If they were in the same price range as the Mossberg in ARish clothes I guess I'd be a bit more in favor of them but if I wanted to sell guns it'd be among the first to go. | I love mine, it has never jammed or failed to feed, and I have put well over a thousand rounds through it to date. If yours is a jammomatic, try Federal bulk pack in it before giving up. If you check the GSG-5 forum, this is the most reliable ammo for the GSG-5. I think ATI even recommends it. |
