Today I tried to copy several of my wifes favorite songs from tons of cd's onto one CD-RW and after I did the first 2 songs from one disk the computer auto ejected the disk and then when I put it back in and tried to copy more songs to it it says the disk is not empty please insert an empty disk. I thought you could go back on a CD-RW and keep adding more and more till it is full. Someone please enlighten me on this subject. I think the program I was using is SonicStage.

Look for a function called "leave session open" or "do not close session"

If that's not it, I'm sure someone will have the answer...

Or just make sure the full 70 minutes of tunes are in the list and burn the whole thing at once.

Can you go back later on and delete from a CD-RW or can you write over the previous data?

If I remember correctly, many computers or CD players cannot read CD-RW or read them correctly. You would be better off with a CD-R. CD-Rs are cheaper than CD-RWs though.

Here is the deal.

With a CDR or CDRW when you burn a CD it is formatted. Thats it no ifs ands or butts.

However with a CDRW you can reformat it and use it again, BUT you will lose ALL of your original data.

Burning music CDs is all or nothing. You cannot do 2 songs, come back and add 6 more, etc. UNLESS you are just copying mp3 data files.

When you burn it as a music CD or video VCD you can only add stuff ONCE.

What I do it use CDRWs to make sure I have the order I want and then burn the final on a CDR.

I can then reuse the CDRW for the next "test" compliation.

You can also burn a CD-RW like you would a CD-R then erase it later. Very useful for testing and temporary data.

Thank you very much!
That was the exact info I was looking for.
Now only if my instructors would allow me on the net during some of my exams so I could have access to all of you alls knowledge I would be set for 4.0 semesters for sure.

What is a VCD?
I know the stupid thing has a CD-RW and a DVD-RW and its a Sony system with like 1.2 or 1.4 gig Processor and like 256 or 512mb RAM.
But yesterday was the first time I have ever tried to "burn" anything.

Video Compact Disc

The same way you use your CD burner to create music CDs you can also create video CDs. They are like DVDs but without the chapters and features.

BUT you can play them on a DVD player. Just usually not the DVD drive of a computer unless you have supporting software.

Anyway, long story short with programs like Nero 5.5 you can take all your mpegs and burn them for use with your DVD player and watch them on the big screen. I've downloaded quite the movie collection.

Good source for movies/songs is:
