Teahcers went on strike September 4th. There has been no school since then. The pool where I worked closed September 8th, I have not worked since then. I have nothing to do and its driving me insane. Ive cleaned my guns a couple of times. In the past 4 days alone I have rented 8 movies from blockbuster. I've gone up to the store 2-3 times a day just so see what happening. There is nothing to do, video and computer games cease to entertain and arfcom chat is, is....is just there, not doing anything.

Any ideas to help get rid of this wave of boredom? Ive got a car, but not a lot of money (staying in the bank for gun stuff when I turn 18).

Aaaaggggggghhh![whacko]

I have been on strike since july of last year to protest the place I worked for going out of business. I am pretty sure they are on the verge of giving into my demands.

Geez, I can't remember the last time I was truly bored.  I can always find ways to entertain myself.  Have you thought about taking up the guitar or some other instrument.  Great way to learn as skill and screw away a bunch of time.

And there is always porn. [:P]

BTW, if you are not sure you are insane, here is a test developed at Cornell University: people.cornell.edu/pages/slp29/insane.html

I've posted it elsewhere -- cheaper than Blockbuster in the long run...

Unintended Consequences by John Ross
Boston's Gun Bible by Boston T. Party

You won't regret having read either.  A lot of others agree on Amazon.com reviews.

When I'm not in the mood to read or do something constructive, I find hanging out at the mall watching the hotties walk by to be quite stimulating. It's just a bitch to get a seat in the middle there because the retirees show up so early.

Things I did for fun when I was your age:

1 - Aggrivate my parents,

2 - Did "it" with my girlfriend,

3 - Played loud music,

4 - Shot a lot of cheap .22 lr, and

5 - Went fly fishing with my hoodlum friends.

Things I do now for fun:

1 - Aggrivate my wife,
2 - Do "it" with my wife,

3 - Play loud music softly,

4 - Shoot a lot of cheap Wolf 5.56mm NATO, and

5 - Go surf fishing with my hoodlum friends.

Feel free to try any of these stress relieving techniques... well... with the exception of nailing my wife![:D]

Maybe you could get together with a group of your friends to play catch, or football, or to go on a hike?  A bike ride?  Couldn't you head out to the local park for some recreation?  I'm sure that you guys ought to be able to come up with something.  Are Fall sports teams still practicing despite the strike?  Go join one that suits your talents and interests.  I assume that most of your friends attend the same school, and can't believe that you're all sitting alone at home when you could take the opportunity to have fun together.  Put your minds together.  Must be someone in the group with a good idea.  If nothing else, then you can all get together and moan about how bored you are.
If you're not an athlete, then why not go play pool or go bowling?  Take a long walk?  Couldn't you find a volunteer position somewhere?  There must be some yardwork or housework to do.  Ask your parents.  If nothing else, then you can get a big group together to play cards or board games.
Can't you go to the school to pick up your books and begin to study to prepare for the school year?  You'll only come out ahead.  Begin to research an area of interest.  Go to the library and read the periodicals?  Begin to investigate future opportunities and to make plans?  Head to the local art store to buy some paint or clay or pastels or ink or . . .
Why not go out on a couple of dates?  Women seem to occupy the mind like none other.  You'll be thinking about "her" or the "hers" more than you want to before long, and you'll forget forever what boredom was.

GET A JOB YOU SLACKER! :)

Seriously I would think a job at a pawn shop or gun store would be cool till you go back to your real job.

Would a gun store hire a 17 year old? If so me and superchicken are gonna get a job at one. That would be uber cool.

Go to a library.

Seriously, learning doesn't have to be work; and it's free.

Pick out something you're interested in and read about it.

Do it now while you can and don't have the pressures of school etc.

Later on in life you'll be lucky to have a chance to do any recreational learning, much less anything else for enjoyment sake alone (or at least you're time will be very limited).

Ahhh, 17...If I were 17 again, I'd

Run through the house with scissors.

Stick a fork in an electrical outlet.

Super glue my eyelids open.

Use a bed sheet for a parachute and jump off the roof of a two story house.

Golly, the list just goes on and on.
