I like how when I try to make hot dogs after watching that I'm all like let me toast the buns and make this top chef material.

The finale doesn't have that true Top Chef feel, too much like Iron Chef.  Not feeling it at all. . . .

Agree and disagree.....definitely feels more like Iron Chef than Top Chef but I'm guessing they're using the gimmick because its their 10 year anniversary? I can deal with it and its cool to see all the past winners there.

I just feel like I've missed half the show; where's the back story, how did they pick the menus, sous chefs, etc.  That's some of why I like the show, all the ancillary stuff that goes with the cooking.

It's an interesting change though.

Good point...didn't really think about that.

I watched most of the marathon today and am watching the Finale now. Any of the top four were great. Both finalist girls are very cute.

Its been steadily declining for the last couple of years IMO.

Yet I still watch it.  So, either it is still pretty good, or a lot of other TV is fucking trash.  Probably a bit of both.

My wife and I are going on the Top Chef Cruise in April.

Can't watch the show right now though. We'll watch it tomorrow. I got rid of our paid television subscription a few years ago and only download TV shows via bit-torrents and NetFlix our movies.

I wanted CJ and Kristen to make it to the finale, but Brooke's obviously worthy.

They need to get Padma off the judges table and either relegate her to strictly being the hostess of the show or tie her up, bag her and dump her down a well somewhere. She's useless.

The most interesting thing about that show is that Padma used to be married to Salman Rushdie

They (very) briefly mentioned why they picked their sous chefs. Brooke picked hers because they, like her, are from L.A. Kristin picked hers because they are good people who know how to let their egos go and do carry out her vision.
