And on the opposite end, Santorum would be pretty bad too.

So far it looks like most agree on Rand Paul

Rand could unite loads of libertarians with conservatives.

Unlike the last election, I would be eager to go out and vote for Rand. Full disclosure, I did vote for Romney in the last election. Ron in the primaries.

I'm sure there would be a few libertarian minded people who would vote 3rd party still, but it would be FAR less than last time. And I'm sure a lot of people would actually turn out for Rand.

I'm with The People's Cube on this:

A GOP insider, who wished to remain anonymous, agrees: "The media's love of Mr. Obama is worth ten points in and of itself. They loathe every single one of the GOP candidates - black, white, yellow, or brown - but they love Barack Obama. Republicans could never hope to close the gap working against such a cultural disadvantage, unless they choose Obama as their standard bearer. The media won't be able to turn against a candidate on whom they heaped approval for eight years. The public is stupid but not that stupid. The media are stupid but they're smart enough to know the public is not that stupid."

At the same time, the source dismissed the GOP's allegedly rising stars Rubio and Cruz as extremists: "The Tea Party is so 2010. Conservatism is stuck in the 20th century - haven't you been listening to the media? Republicans have got to moderate and Obama is the epitome of moderation. Even GOP stalwarts like Mike Bloomberg and Jon Huntsman say so."

...

While according to the Constitution, Obama will no longer be eligible in 2016 after having served two terms, the GOP insider was hopeful: "After eight years of his presidency, do you really think anybody will care anymore what the Constitution says?"

Marco Rubio No thanks.

Mitt Romney please go away

Rand Paul YES

Rick Santorum You're a weird dude, odd religious beliefs will sway your decisions

Chris Christie FAT POS

Paul Ryan Possibly

Mike Huckabee No, please make it stop

Michelle Bachman She's really thinking about running again?

John Huntsman Don't know a lot about him, he seems okay from wiki. Probably not a serious candidate.

Any combo of Rand Paul, Herman Cain, and Rick Perry is fine by me.

It will be just like the last election. One third will stay home because his old man is a nut job. One third will not vote for him because of some thing he voted for years ago or some shit like that. The other third will vote for him.

The libs will back who ever gets put up 100% and we will argue about who ever gets put up.

Uhh, I don't know about that.

I've seen people who absolutely HATED Ron Paul saying that they LOVE his son. I can't imagine them staying home, maybe a few, but not masses of them.

He doesn't really have any skeletons in his closet. He doesn't have a history of vocally supporting things like TARP, like Santorum and the others. He certainly doesn't flip flop. He has an amazing voting record so far.

I think he would really unite the party.

The Moderates have had their chance the last 2 elections and they failed miserably. And as we've seen people like John McCain, are genuinely foolish. If they can't pull behind a good candidate like Rand, we really are screwed.
