I own their xtac compact and use it as my carry weapon. I'm actually not worthy of carrying that pistol. However I don't give a fuck and carry it anyway.

It's a 1911 that actually works.

Ordered a CQB with some extras in Dec and was quoted at 12-14 months

Waited only about 6 months for my X-Tac last year.  NICE gun!

dont they have stuff thats already put together that they can sell, and the wait is just for having it custom done to your specs?....or is that wait for everything?...ive never really been in the market for a high end 1911, but ive window shopped their site a few times, and that was the impression that i got.

I think that's the wait for anything. I ordered two standard uppers and was told that's how long it would take. I've ordered from them before(most recently 2009)
and the wait was just a few months.

I'll keep this brief.

Buddy and I went to the range. Him with his brand new WC, me with my well broke in Kimber Custom.

approx 500 rnds between the two guns that afternoon. Results:

Kimber Custom: ran 100% and we were both noticeably more accurate with the gun.

WC: Sexy as hell gun no doubt. However, multiple FTE(stovepipes) and FTRB. Both of us experienced it so it wasn't a limp wristing issue.

Now it was brand new, and I did oil it up good before the range session and perhaps Wilson pistols have a 'break in' period like some other guns advertise I don;t know but judging on that experience I wouldn't have traded.

Are they still selling to L.E.?  I have quite a few of their .45 mags and love em. but.......just sayin about the list they need to get on.

Hopefully that means they are selling that many guns and not waiting on certain parts

A CQB is my next 1911 on my list, looks like I'll be waiting a while more now...

I'm going to go on right now and say that the fine folks at Wilson Combat are very vested in preserving our 2nd Amendment rights and this whole boycott list shit is nonsense.  Trying to tear down some damn fine companies because of a perceived slight is bullshit.

That's not my experience at all. I've had a few failures where the slide didn't go all the way forward and needed a slight nudge. I attrubute that to a tight lockup.
The problem went away after a few magazines. I've had exactly the same problem with a SIG P220.

It's worth the wait...or, pick up a used one - they're warrantied for life (even if you're not the original owner).

This thread is worthless w/o pics...therefore

With that long of a backlog, if they were smart, they should let people put down a small deposit and pay the gun off a little at a time while waiting. A lot of us don't have three grand to toss at a pistol.

Some gun builder have 3yr waits.

***some will bump you to the front of the line for  20% increase of the price.

I ordered a customized CQB from them in '99.  That gun has never choked once in thousands or rounds.  Everything from SWC lead reloads to premium factory ammo.  I wish I could shoot as good as it is capable of.

It's always been like that.  It was 14 months for me in 1999.

Shoot a Springfield Pro.  They are completely made in the custom shop and are the FBI contract gun for a fucking reason.

I just got a bunch of Wilson Combat parts. Machine marks, gouges, and spotty finish. Their QC is slipping hard during this rush.

I still have a gun at a custom shop for some touchup and refinish work...

it's only been 2 years since I sent him a complete gun to tweak.

I own four WC's. This isn't remotely close to my experience with them. All four of them have been pretty much flawless.

They do allow this. $500 down at time of order and full amount paid before it ships.
