Best bet is your local coin shop.

APMEX is good, and has been recommended a bunch last time this question came up.

I looked into Apmex, but the wanted $12.xx to ship two silver eagles

Perhaps it is easier to swallow if you are dropping $500+

Apmex now sells on ebay, they don't always have the prices the same as on their website but you can look on ebay for what the shipping would be. Plus no cc fee.

Go to http://www.goldshark.com.  Its free anf They compare vendor ratings and prices.  You can get the better deals that way.

If your buying small amounts, lets say under $500, stick local. Build a relationship with a coin shop.

Otherwise, i feel shipping beats you up.

If shipping, then Apex seems ditto be the crowd favorite.

Local coin stores.  I picked up a 10oz Engelhard bar at $1.50 over spot earlier this week and five 1 oz buffalos at $2 over spot.  Some online retailers will be less over spot but then you have shipping to add to it.

If ordering online (large quantity, bank wire price, so it all evens out to less than I can do in person) I buy from gainesvillecoins.

I buy PMs just like ammo, magazines etc. - at normative prices - not panic prices.  Buy low, sell high.  Not the opposite.

I'm buying silver at $6.xx

All the silver I have I bought at $5.xx/oz.

I will be a buyer at $22-$23 ish.  Lot of manipulation going on right now to keep silver prices down.

I've bought alot on ebay. I use to bid on dozens of auctions at the same time. Sometimes I'd have 2000 to 3000 dollars bid on auctions going off overnight. I'd just bid up to the spot price including shipping. I'd only win one or two (sometimes none) but what I got I got cheap.

As with anything in our EE, all the stuff priced to sell is gone in less than 15 minutes.
