How the fuck are they allowed to pass this shit off as education?

I'm taking an online psych class and the entire thing is a fucking joke.  "Read this article, now write in your online blog about it."

Every. fucking. week.  Not one powerpoint presentation.  Not one bit of information about psychology.  Just a series of articles in the NY Times loosely related to psychology and a fucking blog.  And here I get 3 credits for this.  How in God's name is this an education?

Not that I give a fuck, a psychology class stuck in my major is a joke to begin with and the less work to get the credit the better.

When I was taking online classes, I loved them. Learned more than in a classroom, with less time.

Don't worry, employers know it's BS too.

Go to real school, if you hate it so much.

I had to write a lot of papers for my online classes. They had to be in AMA format and we had to run it through plagarism checker. It was hardly a cake walk.

Sounds like a shitty professor.

I've had nothing but good experiences with online classes. YMMV.

I've always heard really good things about online classes.

Perhaps the school/teacher are the problem.

Depends on the type of class. My nursing classes had a moderate amount of online work but obviously I had to goto clinicals at real hospitals, not e-hospitals.. lol.

Taking an online math class right now and love it. It's review for me and I tested above the required math but I have to take it as it's a school requirement. Coulda tested out but I'll take an easy A. It works very well for an online class, obv not all classes translate well to online. My math class has an open forum for us to post in which is required occasionally, this would work better for psych but I rather have an in class discussion for something like that than online.

One thing I love about online is I can do the work ANYTIME

Same here... AMU (APUS) A LOT of writing and research. Our plagiarism checker was called "turn it in"
accelerated 8 week classes... No joke

Taking classes through AMU now...seriously, it is no cake walk.  Way harder than any brick and mortar school that I have attended.

My online classes are far more work than an on campus class.7 days of homework per week, v 2 days. Hell on campus I could skip every class and attend exams and do good. That isn't the case online.

there were a few years where i could not afford college every semester , so i worked to save money but spare time was spent in the library on campus every day during the week learning what i wanted to learn on my own .i had learned more in a year on my own than i did in my entire time in classes.

Not an online degree, just the single class which may be part of the reason.  Took it because it's not remotely related to my field of study yet still required.  I'm not too concerned with anything other than getting the credits so I can get my degree.  This way I don't have to schedule my work availability around it and can do the work whenever I feel like it as long as it's on time.
