PBB used to do something similar. It didn't matter though, n00bs were eaten alive over there anyway. Most never returned after their first beat down. PBB is rough, I've had an account there for 7 years and never post. Everything you would ever need to know has been answered anyway, just have to search for it. |

Wouldn't that just encourage stupid shit being posted in technical forums? This. I run a very large forum myself and we had tried restricting our general discussion section based on post count and it just brought crap into the threads of value. At the end of the day the decision was to value the contents of technical/informative threads over general banter/arguing. Yes, I know I'm a new guy... But I'm speaking from experience on this exact idea. |

Considering the amount of new people that are posting stupid, inflammatory, trollish, or otherwise fucktarded shit in GD, making a 100 post minimum in the tech forums will merely move that shit to a place it doesn't belong at all... it won't magically make that shit not shit. |

I lurk more elsewhere on Arfcom, and can usually find answers to my questions from other threads. I don't think I have 100 technical forum posts here. ![]() Same here. There has to be a way to slow down the stupidity. Stupidy is the fuel of GD. GD is the stupidity fly-paper of arfcom. |
