Here's his reply to my correspondence:
Dear Mr. XXXXX, Thank you for your e-mail. I appreciate you letting me know of your views regarding gun control in the wake of the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. First, I extend my sincerest sympathies to the citizens of Newtown, especially the families of the victims of this horror on December 14, 2012. This senseless act of violence leaves us with questions as to how we can better protect ourselves and the ones we love; however, more gun control is not the answer. As a proud and responsible gun owner, I am and will remain a resolute supporter of every law-abiding American's Second Amendment rights. As such, I understand the critical importance of our citizens' ability to defend themselves and their families from harm. As a member of the Pennsylvania General Assembly, I was the prime sponsor of House Bill 40, the "Castle Doctrine," which allows citizens to defend themselves at any place they lawfully are permitted. Please be assured that I will continue to fight for the protection of the Second Amendment as your United States Representative and will keep your thoughts in mind if and when gun control legislation is considered in the House of Representatives. Once again, thank you for contacting me. I appreciate your concerns and welcome your continued feedback.
