Been thinking about this.... and sent an email to the Mark Levin show...
Reps control the House..... Reps have enough votes in Senate to block.... As gun owners, what if a large number of us contacted Boehner and McConnell and our Republican congressmen and senators with this message... I am a life-long Republican and I ALWAYS vote. There are already twenty thousand gun control laws in effect and any added laws won't reduce crime they will simply reduce freedom. Therefor, if any additional gun control measures pass, I will never vote for a Republican again. If any gun control measures are stopped, but if my congressman or senator voted for those measures, they will never again receive my support. American gun owners are tired of playing the role of a frog in a pot of water. Many of us will abandon any Republican who votes for gun control regardless of the outcome, and if any happens to pass, we will abandon the Republican Party. Forever. When the assault weapons ban was passed in 1994 Democrats paid a great political price, but they recovered. Can the Republican Party exist without gun owners? You do not need to reply to this letter. Your votes will tell me all I need to know. I deny the right of Republicans to compromise my gun rights any further. There has been enough compromise already. |

sounds decent. my reps won't give a shit though. Well, the idea is to go beyond your individual reps.... Make Boehner pay the price by losing his joy hearing "Mr. Speaker." Make other Republicans more aware of what any compromise will cost the party as a whole. No more, "Well my congressman/senator is strong on gun rights, so I will vote for him/her regardless of what the party does." Draw the line in the sand, and make the entire Republican Party pay - because WE LOSE if they compromise. |

No, what you do is this:
Dear representative, If ANY new gun control laws or restrictions are passed, you are FIRED. Good luck at the polls. Respectfully, cbsaf The trick is, every representative needs to get this email, exactly this email, not one small difference, from thousands of voters. Then they will realize that they also aren't the only ones who are getting it when they talk to their buddies. Short, simple, effective and not soon to be forgotten. |

Uh, that's about what I say in my letters anyhow. If they fuck us this time, NEVER AGAIN. Their shitty party can crumble. I elect them so I don't have to worry about this shit. If they capitulate, fuck them. There is NO DIFFERENCE if they allow any of this evil to pass. |

Well, you are right, but many congressmen and senators don't care because their constituents are going to support them anyway. The Dems paid a price for the '94 vote - but they did recover. There are many who will not vote for another ban. But they WILL vote for something like universal background checks and be politically safe. We need to make it clear to REPUBLICANS that no more compromise is acceptable and it will cost them more than they are willing to pay. AND... that that price will be PARTY WIDE, and not just individual. |

The "Nuclear" option starts like this:
Dear newly elected official, We woke your predecessor up in a loud way one morning because he didn't fucking listen. Hope you are smarter than that. If you ever forget, there is a piece of paper in the Smithsonian which enumerates our rights. Dig? Keep it real, The Peeps |

I, personally, will go full on communist in my voting practices. Fuck everyone. THEY need to know that. The NY gun laws passed with a REPUBLICAN controlled senate. Those "R"s think they are safe. They wouldn't have voted that way if they thought it would cost them their seats. Don't think the Republican leadership thinks they are dead if ANY gun control passes. They will be willing to compromise if they think they can get away with it. Just look what they have done fiscally. |

You hear the talking heads say it all the time..... So and so can cast that vote and be politically safe. On the other hand, so and so has to vote this way because of his constituency....
What I am saying is tell all of them it's all or nothing. I want to tell my brand new rep Ron DeSantis that, regardless of his individual vote concerning gun control - if the Reps pass any additional measures he never gets my vote again. Same thing for Marco Rubio. Let them both know that they aren't safe just because THEY voted right, and then THEY will bring additional pressure to bear upon the leadership. |

Bill Nelson wouldn't lose any sleep over that letter. There are what, six Ds that might vote against an AWB? But they will vote for universal background checks. The Rs are the ones who can stop it, and if they believed they would sink or swim as a whole, I think there is a better chance to get them to shut anything down. They are going to want to compromise, folks. They are going to TRY and compromise if we don't make it clear that it will cost them dearly. |

You are right, Bill Nelson wouldn't lose any sleep over that letter. Bill Nelson would take notice if he got that short and sweet letter, word for word, 50K times. Bill Nelson would panic about his chances for reelection if he realized every antigun senator got that letter 50K times. Long rambling letters like others post here are fine but they all tend to lose importance and blur together. We need a simple, calm and resonation message to be uttered exactly the same as much as possible. You're fired Bill. |

Bill Nelson beat Connie Mack (son of a VERY popular FL senator) by about EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND votes. Nelson isn't scared of 50,000 conservatives who didn't vote for him in the first place. Feinstein isn't worried about 50,000 conservatives who didn't vote for her either. Neither is Boxer worried, or Kerry, or Schumer..... But REPUBLICANS will be concerned over LOSING VOTES that they NORMALLY GET WITH NO PROBLEM. |

It is the volume, not the message. They don't read shit. Write to your rep, or any of those assholes, the form letter you get back only depends on what the aid thought your e-mail was concerned with. I wrote my Senator QUOTING a specific form letter he had sent to others, his reply was with the exact same form letter that I questioned him about. |

You fail to understand the mindset of the true Republican. They are the people who will tell you that even though he wanted Congress to ban ALL semiautomatics and handguns, started the EPA,was the first POTUS to spend more on social programs than defense, who wanted the ERA to be an Amendment, who started Federal affirmative action...that Nixon was a great guy who made a tiny mistake at Watergate.
No,sorry, even after they cave to the Ds on gun control they'll come up with excuses of how bad it would have been if they hadn't just banned >10 round mags... There are still a few decent men with an R after their name:Issa,Gowdy,Chaffetz and Cruz amongst them but the GOP and its leadership right now is a suckfest. |
