MONTPELIER, Vt. - Less than a week after proposing a gun control bill that would have banned assault weapons and high-capacity magazines statewide, Vermont's Senate Majority Leader says he's now planning to withdraw that bill. State Senator Phil Baruth tells Seven Days Newspaper that it's "painfully clear...that little support exists in the statehouse for this sort of bill." His statement comes just a day after hundreds of gun rights activists rallied at the statehouse in opposition to his proposal. Good job guys; congrats. |

I saw that. Good news. Despite its other issues, VT has GREAT gun laws. Being such a liberal state, I've always been amazed that they've kept their 2nd amendment rights so intact for this long. Maybe libertarianism has trumped liberalism thus far? [I really believe that a common ground between many conservatives and liberals may be in the libertarian realm; Let *me* keep my guns, let the hippy bread baker down the road sell her eggs and use raw milk]. Anyway, I was quite disheartened to hear of their AWB proposal, and very happy to hear the bill has died.

I can feel it in my bones, that somewhere a mentally defective person is being groomed for another tragic event - so be ready to jump on any false flag ops, as you folks are just one BREAKING news article away from this popping up again. Good news in the meantime. |

That is excellent news. I've been just about beside myself since the VT AWB was floated.
Time to breathe a brief sigh of relief....turn up the heat and keep fighting. I was taking care of my family with the flu when you good folks were in Williston and Montpelier. You have my heartfelt thanks and admiration for getting out there and being heard. I wrote everybody that I could but simply could not make it down there. I already had a sitter lined up for February. |

Now I can want to move there again. They want to Succeed from the GOV but want a Weapons BAN? I never could figure that one out. How the hell do you leave the Fed GOV with no weapons? In Vermont you don't try to figure things out. This state is confused.
