What I've been fiending for is 2 M1 Garands...one to keep in it's original configuration and another to send off to Schiff's Parkerizing for a "tanker" treatment...I found two LGS examples that would fit the bill nicely. A 1948 Springfield in 9/10 condition and a 1954 Italian built target sights M1 that's about 6/10 condition. Both have tags for $895. The Springer I'd keep as-is and send off the Italian M1 for custom work...
Thinking of trading 10/10 condition S&W MP 15 lower/PSA carbine upper straight across. I'm into the AR15 $1531.50 as it sits (already removed best stuff I'd want to keep from it). This rifle I purchased all the bits for in November '12 and have about 10 mags through it. It's a great shooter but I truly love my dialed Spikes a lot more and only really see the PSA/SW build as a spare parts donor (if ever need be). Given market conditions I think this is fair, what do you all think? Wildcard...this LGS has very cool stuff...I also love 1911's and he's got three 1911's that are pre-1920 I might offer trade for an unused Winchester 1200 series 12 g pump and a 9/10 condition Remington 700 bdl 30-06 from '74 (both never see use as I've already got my hunting rifle squared away and have eyes on a side by side 12g...) So all in all I could walk out of there trading one gun for two or three for three. |
