Since two of addresses listed by that paper have been burgled, why can't the people that were outed sue that paper into oblivion?

IANAL, but I'd think that at a minimum you'd need to prove that the criminals targeted those specific houses because they were identified by the "newspaper".  The only way to do that would, I think be to get the burglars on the stand in sworn testimony.  If you were really lucky, they would have had a hard copy of the map with those addresses marked as targets in their posession when they were arrested, otherwise you'd be relying on the word of criminals to support your position to a jury, and crimnals have been known to lie.

I would expect the defense to try to argue mere coincidence.  If there were a number of burglaries in the area before the map was published... well, you get the idea.  Two homes burgled is probably an inadequate sample size to refute a "mere coincidence" assertion.

Where are the names and addresses of the editors and authors?  Where are they?
