[ARCHIVED THREAD] - NY 7-Round Magazine Limit Question (Page 1 of 2)

I realize there are plenty of threads regarding Coumo's proposed restrictions. It seems that the 7-round magazine limit is geared towards protecting 1911 handguns. Are there any 1911 manufacturers in the state of NY or 1911 magazine manufacturers there?
If there are, should we consider a possible boycott and let it be known that it is solely because they are in NY? I'm not saying they may be selling us out but maybe we could encourage them to pull up stakes and move to a free state. This would at least send a message to the government of NY. |

Its geared towards attacking anything more modern than the 1911. Even some 1911s fall under that 7 round ban, as 8 round magazines exist now. |

Remington. Could you please explain the logic of boycotting a gun company for what the dum ass cumo does? A 1,000 jobs (tax payers, too) are on the line and loud mouth wants to kick one industry in the balls. Sickening. My rights didn't come from .gov, YMMV. |

Remington. Could you please explain the logic of boycotting a gun company for what the dum ass cumo does? I'm trying to encourage the companies to leave NY. That was why I said that if we boycotted them, we need to explain that it is because they are located within the state. If they leave, that takes away money from the state. It means jobs are lost. It means Coumo is responsible for job loss. |

There are some great people in NY particularly in the areas where these manufacturers are. I don't want these people to lose jobs but if NY manages to get this garbage passed, I don't want to put money into that state. |

Since the 1911 began service as military hardware and is still in use it's odd that it hasn't been attacked along with the AR/AK type weapon. You know, it was just designed to kill people! Is the fact NY is giving them a pass a sign of............... hypocrisy? |

Having 7 round mags won't help anyone when the 1911 is banned for the ability to take larger magazines. Honestly, why does anyone even care what BS laws they're coming up with anymore? |

Kimber, Fusion, Reminigton They should have been lobbying the SHIT out of this proposed legislation. Meeting with elected officials, Cuomo, state commerce departments etc. saying that they will GTFO if you pass something this draconian. I hope they did, if not, F them. |

Unfortunately, Cuomo doesn't care. They could give two fucks about upstate NY jobs. If it doesn't effect NYC, they could care less. |

fuck new york and EVERYONE that lives there.
you people that claim to want to be free need to pack your shit and leave. that state needs to be burned to the ground, completely, and all residents done away with. fucking shithole of a state. almost as bad as CA. at least CA has some hot women. |

No Compromise on anymore gun rights. Period. How hard is it to understand that statement? Why do so many people think it's okay to start negotiations from a position of weakness? This isn't compromising on anything. If this garbage were to pass in NY despite our best efforts, wouldn't it be in our best interests to "encourage" these companies to abandon that state which would then give us a chance to punish Coumo and company? |

I have no problem with gun companies giving New York State the middle finger if this new ban goes into effect. However, this new 7-round limit shouldn't even see the light of day much less passed into law. |

No one makes a seven, so gues what??? Your stuck with 5rd range mags. Just like PRNJ with a 15rd limt, you are stuck with 10rd magazines because no makes a 15rd magazine.
Its all avoid a real discussion on gun-free zones and mental illness, and of course, CONTROL. |

While I am sympathetic with people who have obligations (family, job, etc), conservative and those who value freedom are the minority in states such as NY and CA. If they were to "abandon ship" and move to other states, we would start having a larger voting bloc representation in regards to Congress and the Presidency. Realistically, your vote doesn't truly matter in these states while others (VA, NC, etc) are barely hanging on. |
