When the rider comes off the bike and skids across the gravel, pavement and grass is the leather suit used again or is it done for?

If he's a privateer yes if it's just rashed but otherwise structurally sound.   Sponsored pro no need to.

it all depends on the crash. pros have to look nice and shiny so a suit will be replaced after a crash. that said i have crashed in mine a few times, have had it patched and still ware it.

Depends, sponsored riders get a new one, independents will reuse it if it's not  damaged beyond safety.

Depends how bad it gets torn up. If it's an amateur rider they'll use it again unless it poses a risk. Pros replace them every time because they aren't paying for them. Gotta look fresh. Too expensive for amateurs to replace all the time. Good one piece suits are roughly $800-1,200.

Most people I ride with do track days, and a lot of them have been down multiple times in the same suit. As long as it doesn't rip through both layers they usually keep running them. Not AMA status or anything

Edit: way too slow

It has been a long time for me but from what I remember if any of the seams were "rashed" or torn the leather was no good any more. If just the leather was rashed and did not go all the way through it was still ok to use. I am not sure what rules are in place today though.

Current suit has been down twice and no noticeable damage. No scratches, scuffs, tears, nothing. Previous suit never went down, had to replace it due to busted seams and poor stitching. Most of it depends on the quality of the suit to begin with. Next comes the severity of the crash. And lastly comes down to cosmetics. Is it cheaper to repair it or replace it?

Depends where it is on the body , and of course your wallet .
It isnt like a plate of armor that you dont want to risk chancing a second shot in the same area , you can look at the area you scuffed , and if it isnt that bad , and the stitching is still sound , most will wear the damage like a badge of honor ....as long as it isnt worn through.
Alot of the better leather companies can rebuild certain areas , replace stitching , etc .......some riders do it themselves .
Helmets are another story , anything hit hard and you're crazy for trusting it any further .

ETA........you try not to put a patch that will leave an edge that can get caught in a slide ......kind hard to describe , but like a 'radial' edge/seam around your arm , as opposed to it being smooth from the factory .....

Suits can be repaired.  Check out Vanson's repair price list; they can pretty much do it all.  Link.
