Well I just wanted to say hi to everybody. I am a new member as you all can see. Well I am a gun nut and just bought my first ar-15 type rifle the other day and I have enjoyed reading the posts and news on this site...interesting and funny I must say. I am from south ms., 26, and have been a avid gun nut since I went hunting for the first time with my sears and roebuck bolt action 4.10 when I was 7 :)... well I just wasnted to say hi to yall....I have not been really into chating on the internet until recently ..I joined shooters.com and didnot find out about you all untin a week or so ago...actually someone at my local range told me about this site.

                          well hello to all

Welcome. [:)]  This place is sort of my internet home, a great place to hang out if you don't get caught up in some of the wackyness that goes on.  Plus you can ask a question on just about anything and get more answers than you can use within a day.

If you are looking for other gun resources, I go to www.thefiringline.com a bit when I am researching a new gun.  Not as fun as here but there is a lot of information.  If you like to revel in the wackyness, go to www.full-auto.com .  It is a fun site. Some "ex-patriates" there, but mostly good guys.

Now save up so you can add to your AR collection. [:)]

thanks guys ..so what do you all think about the professional ordanance line of weapons?..damn and when will they make a carbon fiber framed 1911 that would be a great ccw in a compact, especially in a wide body that uses the preban para mags:)...scott

Actually the Corbons had a pretty poor reputation, but I think they might have got their act together cause you don't hear as many complaints now.  If it is working reliably for you it is an awesome light weight weapon.  Personally I like my 1911s all steel though, just feels better in the hand.

If you want a plastic lower another option is the Cavalry Arms lower that has a pretty decent price.  It uses a standard upper though.  But you can get it in pink if you want. [8D]

Most people here have the standard aluminum lower, and the usual competition of Colt is best, no Bushmaster is best, no Armalite is best, no only pre-bans are best, and so on.

Mine is an Olympic franken-gun that I bought at the last minute, and it will be my last till I can convince the wife to move out of state.  Oh well.  It's pretty ugly, but it shoots well and not one single jam in 2k rounds so far.  And let's just say, I am not religious about cleaning. [:P]

Welcome, glad you jumped over to the dark side. I have a place in NE, MS. But for a little longer stuck in this liberal cesspool of SW, TN. [smoke]
