I was talking with the wife about an idea for a book or at least a short story. Given the current political climate and all the things on the horizon, banning guns, one world gov under the UN, warrantless searches and seizures, government control of the internet and so on, we discussed how they would try to go about it.
Would it be a full out assault on the citizens with UN troops parachuting in or would it be a slower door to door process. How would they keep control? We concluded that it most likely would be a black out of some sort. They would have to shut down people's ability to communicate and share info. So maybe shutting down cell phones and internet, all the while blaming solar flares or some such activity. Maybe electric blackouts where certain areas would have no service. Maybe an EMP. Then we talked about a shut down of shipping and trucking. Stopping or controling food would be a great way to gain control and compliance. Maybe it would be some disease or some kind of flu epidemic. Would there be immediate yet sporadic resistance, or would an organized resistance unify over time? Have lots of ideas for a storyline. What do you all think would be the most logical and realistic way the gov would initiate its martial law take over while disarming the populace? Would it be worldwide at the same time, or would the governments take turns utilizing each others resources? Would it be Mad Max or Hunger Games or I am Ledgend? Maybe I should give up night shift and go back to working regular hours..... |

They would keep on keeping on with the same old shit until it all started slowly falling apart. Then they'd blame the "other guys," the ones that "aren't trying to help." They'd rally their followers, the folks they were throwing money at via social spending, against the aforementioned "other guys" and make every effort to marginalize them. They'd pass laws intended to "protect" the citizens and they'd keep doing that until there was a push back. At the push they'd make a vain attempt to stop it. After there was a mess of suitable size they'd enforce exceedingly draconian laws and people would cheer and support the government for protecting them from those crazy "other guys," likely referred to as "extremists" by that point and even "domestic terrorists" in some circumstances. Just a slow steady march into tyranny....takes years Best thing to do is write about life in the 2030's after a massive depression, and global financial collapse, "THE GRAND PLAN" was implemented to bring the world back from the brink of chaos. It was ratified by all nations, and put in place the first "elected" Prime Minister of the United Nations, a global constitution, court, and senate, and finally created a stable monetary system, free from corruption and manipulation! Describe what life in America is like, develop some characters we can care about, kill a few off, send some off to cerebral regeneration and rehabilitation centers, put some in "school", put in place a global elite political class driven to make the world a better place for all mankind! you put in some terrorist wars, and send some characters we care about off to die in those pointless wars. Let the characters start to "see" the truth behind the patriotic and noble songs, see it for what it is. ...a human farm, where the elite and powerful can effectively extract value from the masses. ...but no grand revolution. No hope, just our loss of individualism, liberty, and perhaps even our humanity. |

a guy by the name of Rawls wrote one called patriots that is much the same theme and sadly very possible.
I think it would be a gradual thing, B rizzle knows the military would not support him in a door to door confiscation move, BUT forced registration, then confiscation of unregistered items is an option as well as things like Vets with PTSD or the .gov definition of PTSD and soon All vets. It will be a slow tightening of the noose. Another scenario is some retard cries revolution and starts shooting, now there is full scale unrest and the UN comes to the rescue. its going to be weird and ugly I hope we are all just over reacting but a part of me knows that its going to get very Third world in the next few years. |
