| Just got my copy. No sleep tonight... |

I'm about four books back, haven't read one in years, and I'm afraid that I'd have to start all over again. Which I don't have the time for.
ETA: Damn, I was somewhere between 10th and 11th grade when I read the first two books. Now I'm 33. Where the fuck did the time go. |

Yeah, I started the series about 10 years ago myself... turned 31 today. Bday gift from the wife. :) |

I started the series in high school but gave up a few books back. Heck I can't even remember the name of the one I last read. I'd have to read them all over again to remember what's going on. |
| I read the book and enjoyed it. I'm really glad Brandon Sanderson was willing to take on the huge challenge of tying together all the loose threads from the series started by Robert Jordan. I didn't do a reread of the series but was glad to see how everything ended. Not perfect, but I would give it 5 stars anyway just for the sheer effort involved in writing it. Much better ending than Stephen King's Dark Tower series. I was not happy with the delay on ebook release, but that is Robert Jordan's widows call; not the publisher, Amazon or Brandon Sanderson. I purchased a copy from my local B&N to support the local bookstore business. |

I enjoyed the book and it was great to have an ending to a series that I never thought would happen; however the ending of this book, as it was left alone basically in Jordan's words, seemed out of place with the rest of the book. I appreciate Sanderson keeping Jordan's ending, but it still seemed like a rough transition.
As far as the overal series, I started over 15 years ago and frankly wish it had about 6 less books in it. The first book was the best; and the next couple were also good, but they started going downhill, with great parts, mixed in with what wasn't necessary in my opinion. However, it is only my opinion, and I am glad it was written and very happy it was finished. RIP, Robert Jordan, James Oliver Rigney, Jr. |

Alright, just finished it.
Overall... I'm a little "meh". Sanderson jumps around like he forgot his ADHD medicine, and at least 50% of the book seemed to just be rehashing of "Our armies are losing, our armies are losing, our armies are losing, and guess what? Our armies are losing." Yeah, we got that. The ending... I don't know what I was expecting, but the very end was slightly anti-climactic for me. Kind of cut short, as if just another few pages could have really made it better. But, hey, I have to say... the last twenty years of the books has been absolutely terrific. |
