So a year or so ago I sent two letters to my ex-wife's collection company over child support. Those were on my letterhead, offers to settle. Then I hired an attorney, and we settled. I say this because this is the ONLY way she would have gotten my home & office number.
In the past month, I have received 5 calls from different collection companies looking for Miss _____, a different name from mine, but definitely her. We have been divorced for over 20 years, and I've had these numbers for about 12 years. Something about student loans, U of Phoenix. What database could I possibly be on? Can I demand to know where they got that number? Does the U have to tell me if my number was fraudulently used? |
