I have revived an old outlet for one-on-twenty four right-wing propaganda...The AOL CHAT ROOMS. I went into a "minneapolis room" this morning and kicked some ideas around. What I have found is this....Many young kids with no real education...JUST WAITING to be deprogrammed. We should, in groups of 5 or 6, go to a 'more public' chat area (AOL chats) in a targeted citie(s) and bring-up topics that these kids wouldnt usually bring up. In the Minneapolis chat this morning, there were two other people bitching about the animal riot from last night...the rest didnt have a clue as to what happened, and we filled them in...I think we opened a few eyes!!! Anyway, the fellowship here is great, but preaching to the choir doesn't get us any converts. Go forth and multiply! DA |

People are natural followers. 10% of all people are vocal. Of those 10%, you can subdivide them into 2 groups who essentially disagree on everything. Well call them Group A and Group B. 90% of all people are waiting to hear what to do. If the majority vocal people in a particular room are of the Group A persuasion, so goes the opinion of the 90% who are listening. If the majority of the vocal people are of the group B persuasion, so are the rest.... And so on. Read "The Social Construction Of Reality"... It pretty much asserts that "reality" isn't a stalwart body of facts, but a series of collective beliefs that are accepted as being the "truth" with out regard to their actual voracity. |
