How butthurt do you think people will be when they paid $60/mag and many hundreds over retail for rifles?
A lot of this is quite comical to me, people run right out create a frenzy which is not necessary. I remember seeing ad on top of ad of 5.56 ammo for sale for 600-800 well after prices normalized after obama was first elected. And then there were the incessant $900 wasr ads that seemed to hang around for 2-3 years until the seller finally gave up or died. I gotta say: My preferred shop here in town has left me with some hope for the human race. The owner never raised prices, just sold what he had as customers came in. One of his distributors called while I was there offering a few different rifles for $400 over normal wholesale dealer cost and he told them to shove it! I was really impressed! The guy has sold 70% of all his available inventory in the past 4 days and held fast, never considered gouging and did his customers right. A rare thing in this day and age! |
| I was pondering buying a Colt 6450, but with mags hard to find or non-existant, I hesitate to buy...............even AK mags are scarce, and that deters me from buying an AK...........might just buy myself a CCW handgun and sit on some cash and wait to see what happens |

I bet the prices won't go back down to where they were. This was the next jump in prices. I bet mags will stabilize at $30 two years from now. ARs that were $800 will be $1350. Everyone said the same thing in '08 and prices ended up dropping even lower than they had been prior. |

This one is event driven. |

So? Unless a ban is implemented prices will drop again. ETA: Most manufacturers haven't raised prices, not all dealers have raised prices. Why would this become the norm? It's just panic buying. No ban, the dealers and manufacturers that did raise their prices will be forced to either drop prices back to the same level as those that didn't or go out of business. Also the glut of people selling all the shit they panic bought and no longer want will force prices even lower. |

Prediction. If there is no ban by June 1, 2013, those that held cash will be stacking AR's and Pmags like cordwood in their back yard. Or, those that bought in late 2009 after the panic was over and stacked like cordwood are making money on the stuff now and in another year they will have 2 cords of ars and pmags. |

This fire is starting to burn out. If we can avoid any copycats, this will quietly go away. You don't hear many politicians holding news conferences updating us on the coming ban. Feinstein introduces her dead assed bill every year.
If they do push for a ban, I hope they go after everything. I hope it's a libs left-handed masturbation bill. |

Only good thing about the situation is if we make it through this unscathed I think that almost guarantees no new bans. This is the best shot the antigunners got. Ugh, I never, ever take anything for granted with this White house admin. With Obama care going through, Ugh..... I take NOTHING for granted. That said, I agree, if we survive this, we are good at least through the next few years........ assuming no other worthless piece #%^$@$%&@# does something stupid. Its fragile, no doubt it about it. But yes, if it does return to normal, and I am praying to does, just like 09', there will be a huge vacuum and stuff will be out there, cheap cheap cheap. Hard to believe but I remember seeing stacks of lowers made on a pallet sometime late '09. Going no where. Happy dreams....Which I have learned my lesson as I am in a better place $$$ wise now then than. I will stock up on my parts. |

There are millions of young Americans on the same the drugs, raised by the same type of people, with the same lack of values. It will happen again sooner or later. I too hope they go after everything and I hope they skip due process--illegitimate authority. |

There will be no ban. They cannot even pass a budget, and after we go over the fiscal fall in Jan, they will be scrambling to fix that mess they made.
The NRA will be stepping up tomorrow, and many of the people who spoke already are doing 180s retracting what they said and side stepping. No doubt this massacre hurts, I know it does me. But when it comes down to it Im hoping we get through this. While I doubt there will be a ban, I bet they will get their way with background checks (deals through FFLs only) and more mental records being fed into the system. Also wont be surprised we see minimum security requirements for firearms, more liablity if your guns are used in crime / requirements to report stolen. We will get through this. I just wish these assholes would have these little angels rest for a week before dancing in their blood to further their agendas. Relax or at least try to - while maintaining your situational awareness. |

Over half the guns out there have been sold privately and there is no trail on them whatsoever. |

With that being said, if gun legislation goes thru I do see them on a prospective basis requiring all sales through an FFL for the background checks, and also registration of handguns (wouldnt be surprised long guns too) akin to what its like in PA for HGs. No license required to buy a HG in PA, but no private transactions on them they have to go through a dealer, and the deal gets recorded with the State Police. |

I got great deals on everything I panic bought that were great deals BEFORE the gouging. Mostly cause i did it the day of, and that sunday night before people starting really opening their mouths.
10/22 - $210 LCR .357 - $460 Radom P64 - $200 Already got in on 30 rounders when AIM was running that sale for $8.50 a pop. Not pmags, but whatever, it's still a steal and a half. |

No, I know you're not promoting that, but how would they enforce it. There's really no way to track previous FTF sales. |
