Yes, haha, all very funny stuff.
But the Mayans didn't have leap years. Hence the adjusted calender for the Mayans would put 12/21/12 back in July I believe. According to one article I read I am wrong. The way the "baktuns" or what ever the hell they are called are counted does start anew tomorrow. Who cares. taking my ball and going home Bubble=bursted Parade=pissed on Crayons=broken |

Quoted: Quoted: To my knowledge that was already figured in to the date. No, it wasn't. Wait, are you being serious? Because the "Mayans didn't account for leap year" is a joke that's been going around ![]() They had like a dozen calenders, all based on astrological events. Their "year" was more precise than ours, thus no need for a leap year Speed |

With no leap years or months I'm aware of. The Hebrew calender also has 360 but they have a leap month every so many years. |

There are a bunch: religious ones, agricultural ones, historical ones... ...their astrological knowledge really is fascinating and it's a shame most of their books were destroyed, but this whole 2012 stuff has brought a lot of confusion about what should be a really fascinating anthropological topic ![]() ETA, never mind, I see you must have read something about their 18month, 20 day calender with the 5 day short month and somebody forget to mention the 5 day month ![]() Speed |
