Question 11e.  "Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?"

Will Obama's BATFE start making exceptions for Colorado and Washington State?  It doesn't appear that this administration is willing to enforce Federal Law in these states.

No.  The ATF issued a letter on the subject of medical marijuana a while back.

ETA:  And given that this administration has been enforcing federal law, admittedly haphazardly, in medical marijuana states, I don't think anyone needs to worry about "reefer madness" taking hold in WA or CO.  You know, any more than it already has, since probably thousands of people in all 50 states lie on 11e every single day.

Nope. If you smoke marijuana either recreationally or medically you are a prohibited person.

My local gun store and indoor traget range has signs stating if you have a medical marijuana card you are not even allowed in the lobby. (store policy)

That said I'm not going to start CC BATF everytime I write a weed ticket.

Which is a felony.

I wonder how many of those individuals believe that all convicted "felons" , who have served their time, should never be allowed to own a gun again?

More than few right here on ARFCOM, I believe.

Scotchy- thanks for the answer.

I would hope so because the  government has the means to make instant felons of anyone it chooses simply with a swipe of the pen.

I also don't believe in forced  self incrimination which is why I  feel that the question of marijuana use should not be asked on a form required by the government for an American, or legal resident alien,  to buy a firearm.

In theory you can truthfully say no, because mj has been made legal.

It asks if you are an unlawful user.

Not advocating, just reading the question.

No offense, but the Feds are saying differently.  Their viewpoint is that its still unlawful from a Federal point of view, therefore you're still a prohibited person if you smoke weed.  In Colorado, you will NOT be issued a ccw permit if you smoke weed, based on the above logic.
