Ahhh, I'm gonna pull my hairs out.

I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 home basic. Then the drivers for our laser engraver and now it won't send jobs. When I plug the ethernet cable in it shows it's connected but when I click "print" it doesn't go through.

The printer troubleshooter says this. When I print, it just goes into queue and sits. Google was of no assistance, and the troubleshooters just keep saying the same shit.

I'm not trying to print off a network. I am plugged directly from the computer into the printer via ethernet cable. I updated the ethernet drivers as well.

Computer is Dell Inspirion 1545.

I know there's some computer genius' on here. Any assistance is appreciated!

You're going to have to go into Device Manager and play with the setting. I had a similar situation running our Brother Laser through a USB hub. Window's supposed "auto-detect" wouldn't, and we had several hundwred pages due for a project the next day.

I know nothing about the printer , but found the additional instructions. Sounds like you need to set the ip address manually if not on a network.

Here
http://www.epiloglaser.com/downloads/win7_tcp.pdf

ETA: Driver install instructions

You need to know the IP of the Laser or how to set it.
Based in the example your PC needs am IP address of 192.168.3.3! Netmask 255.255.255.0
Laser based on the example is 192.168.3.4 same netmask.
If the PC has an ip that starts with 169.x.x.x you need to set the ip manually.

You also need to make sure you are using a crossover cable.
Search the Knowledge base for an article on "crossover cable"

Most cable are straight through. So check the ends as noted in the article.

Dude, you da man.

I had to completely start from scratch on the install. I thought I could patch it and make it work. Had to reset IP and Subnet, then go through the entire printer wizard again.

Thanks!

Damn.  I was planning to offer to come up and fix it if I could make use of it after I fixed it.

It's definitely a lot of fun.

Most of the time we've spent on it has been work related though.

Fuckin ridiculous. Something about bills to pay or some shit.

One of my customers had me setup a 3d printer for them.  After like three days they had run out of things to print but were still fascinated by watching it work so the boss asked if anybody else wanted to print something and I put up my hands.  One visit to cncgunsmithing.com later and we were printing the slide and frame of a 1911.
