Quoted: Consoles are for children. I think you're ignoring the fact that the personal computing world is shifting to a thin client model. Cloud SAAS Online Content Delivery All are harbingers of the future. The personal computer that contains hardware and a true OS will be gone sooner than you think. All that will remain are consoles, network routing devices, and super-servers. |

Quoted: It will be another walled garden system. Even more so then stream on Windows. I really can't see the benefit of this unless its under $200. (being using steam since Half-life 2). If Valve doesn't charge shit loads of money for the SDK or charge a patch release fee (Like some companies do today) it will draw more developers to the platform. More developers mean more games. Lack of bullshit fees means games should be cheaper. |

I built a HTPC with a gtx 670 a couple months ago so I won't be needing this, glad to see it is coming out though. The more people that jump on steam the better. I used to HATE steam back in the day, I even got one of my accounts hacked and had no recourse. For that I despised steam for the longest time. Over the last few years I've gone full circle. Now when I buy a game and it DOESN'T link to my steam account I get pissed and moan about how I have to keep my game discs and CD keys around to play the game in the future.

Steam locked me out for some reason and Valve refused to reply to my emails. Suddenly unable to play the game I bought. Fuck Valve and fuck Steam. |
