Anyone here know about the best way to get this going? I typically just use paypal, but I am looking for a service that allows me to process actual credit/debit cards instead.

What out for hidden fees. If you are unaware they will take advantage of you. Shop around but the lowest rate doesn't always equal the lowest fees.

How much volume do you expect to do in the next year? 50k, 250k, 1m transactions? Also, what type of transactions - card present/not present/both?

Square works well, the hardware is free, and the fees are reasonable.

square is great if you need a basic no frills solution.  Cheap too. The only fee is 2.75% per swipe.

Not nearly that much. It isn't  full time deal, just kind of  small part time business. If I had to present a revenue forecast I'd say $10k.

I won't ever have physical possession of a card. It will be an online only business.

AVOID flagship.  They have incompetent personnel and lots of hidden fees.

I am going to dump them for square myself.
