So I was finally able to get out to the range yesterday morning.  It was a beautiful day, upper 50's, sun shining, nice drive through the country singing along to the country station, just put a smile on my face.  With moving into the new house this past month and being at school for my mba and being a grad assistant, I haven't had the chance to shoot as much as I'd like to lately.

Anyway, I guess others had the same idea as the range was pretty packed.  I was meeting some buddies there as we like to have a man day every so often.  I get there and the 100yd range is packed so I head over to the 200 yarder which isnt as bad.  I just bought a new mark AR for my dpms that I wanted to get dialed in as well as play with my new lmt 308mws.  So I start shooting my ar15 and am no where near the paper.  So I pull the rear pin and take the bcg out to crudely boresight the rifle (should've done that at home...) and she was way off...  So I'm getting it on paper now but didn't have the ability to walk out and check my groups often as there were about 20 others shooting as well.  So I was satisfied enough to have it constantly hitting an 8" round plate at about 175yds.  It was getting boring hitting this thing.  I really need to get here during the week as I've often been shooting by myself for 2hrs or so, thats really nice.

The I pull out the LMT, awesome!  Only using the iron sights as I want to decide on an optic for it later.  Took 3 shots to get it on the plate at 175 yards.  Don't think this is too bad considering I just started shooting less than a year ago.  I really much prefer shooting irons over optic as its a much better challenge.  All in all, I put 80 rounds through the lmt.  Even my buddy who doesn't shoot often at all and just got his first gun, m&p 9mm few months ago was able to hit the plate with the irons.  Love this gun.

If we have good weather for another couple weeks I'm gonna head out there again and take some video, way too crowded this time to do anything.

For an interesting pattern checking target, print 1" squares in your spreadsheet program and darken in 2 of them on a page. This'll tell you what kind of accuracy you are getting.
