Factory 9mm > General Discussion

I'm not a real big expert on 9mm. I don't shoot very much of it. I just made a trade for 400 rounds of it, and it looked a little off. I put some calipers on them, and OAL is all over the place.

Is this normal?

If you want cheap plinking ammo then go with the aluminum CCI blazer

Cheaper commercial FMJ generally doesn't have the same quality control as premium defensive or hunting ammo. It's nothing unusual, from my experience.

You have .013" difference in factory ammo. I wouldn't worry about it. Especially 9mm. Caveat Emptor.
If it was my own reloads it would be different.

That's what brought it to my attention.

My 9mm reloads are WAY less tolerant than this crap.

More critical dimension is CASE length,
assuming they are within magazine length overall.

Just checked my reloading manuals and it is for 115 gr FMJ. Minimum length of most is 1.095 to 1.125 and only see one loading of 1.140 for the min length.
If anything they are not seated in to far so no over pressure problems. Now feeding problems, I don't know and you wont either till you try them.

Blazer blows, I have never had any FTF or double feeds until I used it. I like PMC and Fiocchi.
