My older Garmin GPS unit died & I need a replacement for under $200. Any suggestions on what's basic & a good buy for the $?
Thanks in advance! |

Seconded. If you look you can sometimes find a Nuvi with lifetime map upgrades for a good price. Costco, maybe? |

I've always had very good luck with TomTom. I think my current unit is ~4 years old.
I just ordered a replacement, link, because I just don't like relying on older computer hardware for anything that could leave me stranded.| EDIT: I avoided the Nuvi because they do not come with a way to mount it in a vehicle. I had a RoadMate (used alongside a TomTom) that died in less than 9 months. The device turns on, but is unable to connect to any satellites. |

I got a refurb Garmin 2455LMT at Wally for $135. Works great and even though it's a refurb I couldn't tell it from new other than the marking on the box.
