I hope I am not here to see the implosion.

Unfortunately, I think both of us will see it. I won't live too long in it, but it will be painful to watch.

Posted this in another thread already, but my family has officially cut-off ALL donations to any "Free Shit Army" charities like "Angel Tree" where you give Christmas gifts to "needy" children. The "tree" gets larger and larger each year and the local newspaper said that there were over 1,000 more "needy" kids this year than last year.

Bullshit.

The homies have learned that they can get "free shit" by signing up for it.

This year, all of our charity money will go to the local animal shelter(s) and the Blue Star Mothers.

The free shit stops here. Get your "obama money" from your beloved leader, lazy bums.

I couldn't agree more!  What bothers me is for the first time in my life I feel like I am the enemy of my country and folks like me.  I always thought folks like us would be able to correct it...I was wrong.

edit for missing a word!

I stopped  years ago, when Obama was elected in giving to anything other than things for kids in non-profit groups and veterans organizations. If the group was subsidized or had any federal money going into it, the answer has been , "no".

My reply was "Go see the man in the White House, he wants to give it all way for me."

Now I find myself on the Board of Directors for an intensive non-profit for kids that needs $ and I am out seeking and organizing donations. Although people have been as generous as they can, It has been not been easy. I don't see it getting any easier either.

Pic, I couldn't agree with you more.

As usual.  I wish the .gov would get out of the charity business... because they end up enabling and creating more dependence than actually helping folks.

Just look at the reservations!  The natives I know in AK hate the .gov handouts, as the handouts are destroying the family unit that the tribes have depended on for eons.
