I am likely waaay behind the knowledge curve here, but I just realized/learned something tonight. Walt calls himself Heisenberg.
There is a German physicist named Werner Heisenberg, who happened to write a doctoral on turbulence and worked on the German's nuclear program during WWII. He also died of cancer. Thinking back to the show now. Walt's life is turbulent. He is working on something that is considered evil in some respects. He will also likely die of cancer. Am I on the right track here? Did this already get discussed and I am late to the party? |

Amazing work, OP. Here is something else you might find interesting. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_KEArRUZspiA/SmSVQKeil3I/AAAAAAAAB80/kzwrfp1T5JI/s400/apollo11d.jpg

Google "Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle". The first time Walt refers to himself as "Heisenberg" is when he went into Tuco's lair and demanded $50,000. The only way out of there was to blow up the place with his big bag of mercury fulminate. The outcome of that plan was certainly uncertain, and I guess in that moment when Tuco asked for his name, "Heisenberg" seemed to Walt to be particularly appropriate.

Quoted: Quoted: I was just watching it as entertainment, not trying to delve into any deeper meaning. That's why when I read about the German physicist I had the holy shit moment. It's kind of amusing that this is the first time you've heard of Heisenberg. Yeah... I also don't think it's a complicated as he's making it out to be. Walt's background and cancer are likely the only purposeful similarities with Heisenberg. The rest of it feels like a reach. Can't wait for the conclusion, either way. |

We never did have much of that fancy book learnin where I grew up fellers! |

Quoted: Quoted: Makes sense that the name Heisenberg is foreshadowing of the eventual conclusion off the series but. Why does Walt buy an M-60 in the first episode of season 5? if you had that much money you would to Hell yes I would but he doesn't take a shit without a plan |

Was I the only one that noticed the ice machine at The Big Chief gas station where Jesse filled up the Winnebago and then paid the little chubby cashier with blue?
The ice machine out in front of the station had a little cartoon penguin and the words, "Ice Is Burrr!" Can't find a picture of it on google. |
