I'm going to get my gf one of these for Christmas..

The Fire HD and the new Samsung chromebook come in at $250 either way.

She mainly looks at Facebook, a couple of websites, a few flash type games, and uses Netflix

Help me decide..

I would go with the chromebook if I was going to keep it around the house, and the real keyboard was important to me.

imo, it's a pretty small niche.

I'm leaning towards the chromebook for that reason..

It looks like both would be equally useless out of wifi range.

ETA - it would be used at her place and mine.. and hauled back and forth.
