Grains,,, always grains.  Grams - Gm.

Start from the front of the manual. Read everything before the load tables first.

Then, go find someone who has been reloading for a while and ask to watch them.

It's not worth losing fingers or an eye over.

ETA:
This moron had used 18 grs of Bulleyes ( fast burning, high
pressure powder )  instead of 18 grs of 2400 ( a slow burning,
lower pressure powder). Talk about a candidate for the DARWIN AWARDS.

Needless to say this will void the factory warranty on the pistol!
All I can say is DAMN!!!

Maybe just a little too hot of a load.

I think he needs to go back to the reloading manual and study a little harder.

Source is a spam email everyone was getting a few years back.

Grams = g

If the OP doesn't know this, he has much reading and learning to do before attempting to blow himself up.

22.8 grams is just under and ounce.  have fun jamming that into a shell casing.

You wouldn't be able to fit 22.8 grams of Varget in the case anyway.  That's a shitload of powder compared to 22.8 grains.  ETA - Ahh too slow.

My miracle target load uses 27.2 gr. of Varget under a 53 gr. SMK flat base and the powder is level with the top of the case.

Actually, it's a self-solving problem.  You can't cram very many grams into a case.

ETA too slow once again

Absolutely.

Whenever someone asks me what they need to start reloading, I tell them to get this book and couple of manuals and read them over and over until they can't stand it anymore.

THEN start getting gear,

Thanks, I had a brain fart last night. I was sitting there looking at my 308 rounds 150 "grain"......thought, hum? Put it on the scale and it says 150 gn.
