Power down. Wait a few minutes.

Open the "hatch" where your memory is.

Unplug and remove your memory module(s).

Replace them.

Power back up.

Run SFC.  Could try copying your data to a non system folder and reinstall windows without formatting.

Are you sure your hardware is all good?

Go buy USB thumb drives and copy the critical data

Remove the hard drive, put it in a hard drive enclosure, plug it into a different computer, then backup whatever it is you need to back up.  It will just work like any other external hard drive..doesn't matter if the windows install is fucked or anything.

Linux on a USB drive. You can access all your files and burn whatever you need that way.

get this usa hard drive adaptor to back up your data. You will have to pull the hard drive and use another computer. But this is simple, easy and has worked every time for me. after that is done you can do what you need to do to the computer.

You can find really great people in Linux communities that will give you all the help you need... but it's not as bad as you think. If you just take it one step at a time, you should be able to get through it pretty easily.

Good advice here.  You can buy one of these for ~$10 at BestBuy or Walmart.

Just take the old hard drive out, and plug it in this new enclosure.  It comes with a USB cable.  Just plug one end in the enclosure, and the other end a second PC.

This should enable you to get your movies, photos, & documents over to a second PC.  You can also scan the hard drive for errors from the second PC.

Also check your BIOS version.  Updating to a newer version may possibly resolve your issues.

This is the right answer.  External USB enclosure, copy off files, then replace HDD and reinstall OS.

Have you tried resetting the RAM, maybe one one stick at a time? Do you have the Windows installation disc? If so, put it in and go into BIOS and have it boot from the disc than do the "system repair" option.

- Open in safe mode & remove any password protection,
- remove hard drive,
- put in external hard drive dock,
- plug into desktop to copy all files & folders (or get a dock with a stand alone cloning feature that doesn't require a desktop).
