| Quick question for the computer guys out there. I plugged my lap top into my TV to watch a movie, pushed F4 and everything on the computer blew up to fit the TV like it always does. But when I unplugged the lap top from the computer everything stayed big and it won't go back to normal size, even when I turn the computer off and back on. How do I get everything back to normal size? |

Quoted:
right click the desktop and set the resolution back to the recommended settings. How do I do that? When I right click the only thing I see that might help is Personalize, but I don't see anything that changes resolution. I am pretty computer illiterate, so the more steps you can give me, the better. Thanks a lot |

| It technically should automatically revert. Download and install the latest graphics drivers from your laptops manufactures website. I've seen it happen to the HP's here at my work and that solution usually works assuming there are not hardware problems with the graphics chip. |

Thanks a lot Select personalize, go the the lower left portion of the new window and select display in the left side list of the new window you should see adjust resolution then you will get a new screen which will have the different resolutions in a drop down box towards the center, one will be labeled (recommended). Let me know if you encounter a different path than I have laid out. |

I love statements like these because while they are true, reality is very different. Which is one of the reasons I'm employed. |

1) Click the windows icon in the bar that runs across the screen 2) click "control panel" in the menu that pops up 3) click on "appearance and personalization" in the window that opens 4) click on "adjust screen resolution" under display in the windows that opens 5) click the dropdown menu for resolution in the window that opens 6) select the resolution that has "(recommended)" next to it 7) click the apply button |

FOr whatever reason though, it rarely reverts back to the normal sizes when I unplug it form the TV. Once in a while it will, but I usually have to restart it. This is the first time it woudn't revert back even when I restarted. New driver is what I need? |

I recommend having the latest drivers for all of your hardware as a "best practice." |
