the books were awesome. The movie looks pretty good too.

The movie was very enjoyable. Purefoy does a nice job, although the vision is different from the dour Puritan presented in the books.

A bit formulaic, but it does the formula well. Good period feel.

Recommended, and wish they would make a sequel.
