Ok, the video was cute...but I have a few serious questions.
When those monkeys reach sexual maturity won't they get super agressive? Do you have a plan to release it and if not, will it be cage kept or given to a zoo? What permits are required, if any, in your state to keep a primate? What do you feed it? |

I'll try and answer the ones I can: 1. Mom and dad are passive towards humans ( within reason), but is def not typical of most primates. 2. Don't know yet. She's part of an endangered species. Not sure if she will be a perm pet or go to a zoo. 3. I don't have the exacts on this but we do get visited on a regular but random basis for compliance, etc. 4. She's been bottle fed but is transitioning to soft foods, apples, oranges.. We are the ones that get called when any PD agency in the Kansas City area comes across an unusual animal. In the last month, we got called on a 3.5ft alligator, living in a bathtub, and 2 snakes ( a rattlesnake and a spitting cobra) that were located in an apartment complex in a major suburb. It keeps us busy. |

What on earth ever possessed you to want to have a pet monkey? Are you fucking insane? I work with monkeys every day and there is no fucking way that I would ever, I mean EVER, have one as a pet. You have made a very poor choice sir. I hear ya. we are an animal rescue organization. We have 45+ monkeys, 45+ venomous snakes ( mambas, gaboon viper, taipan ) 7 alligators, and various other animals. The owner has always has monkeys and it's just grown to what it is now. People think these animals are cute, cuddly, etc and they are to a certain point, then they no longer want them. We provide them a place to live out the rest of their lives. In the summer months, 7 of the monkeys even get to live cage free on an island infront of the house... The orig thread is archived that has all the pics. |

Do they regulate you on adopting to MO residents? Reason I ask is because I've owned a WA gaboon and NP rattler but I live outside of my town's city limits which made it OK, but wasn't sure on the laws regarding rescue agencies adopting them out ETA: I'd love to do what you do for work, except the part with the monkeys. I would honestly feel a lot safer around the gaboon. ![]() |

The orig thread is archived that has all the pics. The link to the original thread is no good. Idk. Click search, archived threads, search "snake" , or by author "scottMO" I searched a pretty good chunk using your user and I didn't see a mutli-page thread relating to snakes (I assume something like that would be multiple pages). I might have missed it though, any clue what the thread title was? |
