No rounds penetrated his body armor, and he made it home with no permanent injuries. This happened in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. *READ* From the cameraman: " I got a hit a total of 4 times. My helmet cam died and i made it down the mountain on my own. I was also hit in the side of my helmet and my eye pro was shot off of my face. We were doing overwatch on the village to recon and gather intel. I was point heading down the face of the hill with the LT. when we got hit. the rest of the squad was pinned down by machine gun fire. I didn't start the video until a few mins into the firefight for obvious reasons. I came out into the open to draw fire so my squad could get to safety." "A round struck the tube by my hand of the 203 grenade launcher which knocked it out of my hands. When I picked the rifle back up it was still functional but the grenade launcher tube had a nice sized 7.62 cal bullet hole in it and was rendered useless. " You can see the dust impacts from ground hits @ 1:09-1:12.   |

if hit but the armor wasn't penetrated, why does he keeping yelling to his buddys that he is hit?
I mean, isn't that gonna cause them to move into the open to try and save him? or does he not know that the armor was not penetrated, and think that he has injuries but doesn't knopw to what extent? |

Go get yourself shot in a vest and let us know how it feels. He probably had no idea that it didn't penetrate the vest until later. |

Meh.. point is that getting hit in the vest still hurts like hell, so he probably thought the rounds penetrated it. Most people haven't been shot before, with or without a vest.. so not many people would feel the difference. |

Good audio delay between the snaps of the incoming rounds and when you can actually hear what I assume is a PKM firing the shots in the distance. Short bursts, aimed fired, leading the target, and accounting for elevation... competent PKM gunners seem scary as fuck. |

question, the old ass armor i have uses like steel plates wrapped in some other material that fit in pockets front and back, and the rest is the shit patrol officers at the sherrifs office wear but its a one piece rig....the modern stuff is diff material im told, is there a difference in "feel" when hit?
years ago here on arf someone posted a vid of a guy in armor similar to what i have but appeared to be 3 hanging smaller plates, getting a 308 round point blank and he didnt appear to feel shit |
