(FWIW the "statist" wing of the conservative party is more closely aligned with the paleocons like Buchannan or Huckabee.) |

As far as government protecting people, that's true in a broad sense for the Federal government from external threat. Not so much on a local basis with cops. I'm sure they'll do their best to find out who killed me if I am murdered, but protection? I don't know about you, but I don't expect the local government to protect me from anything. Because it can't. Any claims by politicians to the contrary is just a handjob for votes. |

I would argue that anyone buying in to the notion that a political party controlled by a small cadre of elite members has their best interests in mind hasn't applied their critical thinking skills to the situation.
The GOP primaries are a perfect example of this. I have yet to find anyone who actually liked or is enthusiastic about Mitt Romney. Alas, it was his turn... |

Absence of a ruler. Self rule. Despite leaders and systems and laws...you still rule yourself, you can still choose to do what you wish whatever the consequences.... You live in the state of anarchy right now, the illusion of order is merely the roped off kiddie section of the pool in which you presently swim....there is no rule you cannot choose to break. Chaos and entropy are the ultimate predominate forces of the universe and order is an anomaly within this sea. You "check yo self" from killing your neighbor when angry at him due to a number of reasons and consequences all seemingly derived from supposed order, yet this is merely you ruling yourself, forcing yourself to take a path that avoids unpleasant consequence...you can just as easily choose to take the other path, no external force makes the choice for you, you, on your own, through a cost/benefit analysis, do so. Self rule. Absence of a ruler. Your submission to external forces lasts only as long as is convenient for you.... I have said for a long time that the far right and the far left are basically the same assholes, they just don't know it. YOU said they were off the spectrum. They are not the same assholes, now the republicans and democrats are a different story.
