Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman said he and his deputies were called to County Road 601A, south of Kirbyville, shortly before 7:00, on Tuesday evening, when it was reported that several dogs had attacked a man as he walked down the road with his son in his arms. Neighbors said Jessie Maddox, 28 held the 6 month old boy in his arms and climbed on top of a pipeline guard in an attempt to escape from the dogs. However, the dogs were able to jump and bite Maddox and the young child's leg, causing serious injury to the boy. |
