Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman said he and his deputies were called to County Road 601A, south of Kirbyville, shortly before 7:00, on Tuesday evening, when it was reported that several dogs had attacked a man as he walked down the road with his son in his arms.

Neighbors said Jessie Maddox, 28 held the 6 month old boy in his arms and climbed on top of a pipeline guard in an attempt to escape from the dogs. However, the dogs were able to jump and bite Maddox and the young child's leg, causing serious injury to the boy.

Three thoughts: I hope the little kid doesn't have any permanent damage. I can't believe they didn't shoot the dogs on the spot.  Packs of dogs scare me.

Tiny things. He should have stomped on them. Maybe now he will get a CCW and just shoot the dam dogs.

CoC prevents me from properly expressing my thoughts on what should be done to the owner.
